The opening ceremony of the renovated Viscosa and a summer day festival full of cultural events will take place on 20 June 2026.
La Viscosa. Textile Factory
Exhibition of the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association is dedicated to the rebirth of the imposing artificial silk factory, established in 1912, as the Viscosa Cultural Factory, and to Hiiumaa as an exceptionally fascinating island of textile industry.

THE VISCOSA ART SEASON BRINGS OVER 200 WORKS OF ART TO HIIUMAA
ARTS PROGRAMME 2026
2026. This season’s art exhibitions offer visitors to Hiiumaa a wide range of artistic experiences—and not just from Estonia. Curated by Reigo Kuivjõe, this painting exhibition brings works by 150 young artists from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to Viscosa. To mark the 111th anniversary of the founding of the Viscosa textile factory, the Viscosa Cultural Center is hosting an exhibition of textile artists titled “La Viscosa. Textile Factory.”
